| How do you get an image from the Internet to paper in the most environmentally-friendly and efficient manner? (These tips use Google Image Search and Internet Explorer, because they are the most commonly used)
Remember: - Reducing the size of images will not sacrifice image quality.
- To keep your images crisp, you should increase the size of images no more than 150%.
- For fast results, choose an image that's close to the size of the print you want.

- Step #1: Determine the size of an image, using pixels.
- The thumbnail image you see in a Google Image Search is approximately 100 x 100 pixels.
- Most images will fit on a 640 pixel x 480 pixel screen.
- An image that will fit on a 8-1/2" x 11" piece of paper is about 960 pixels x 720 pixels, or 150% of a computer screen size.
- Step #2: Use Print Preview on Internet Explorer to view what your image will look like on paper.
- View image in a separate window.
- For MAC, hold the mouse down over the image and choose "Open Image in New Window".
- For pc, right click on the image, choose Properties, and copy and paste the URL into the Address box.
- Select File --> Print Preview to View
- Click on Page Set Up
- Choose Portrait or Landscape Orientation
- Reduce or enlarge your image by changing the Scale, generally enlarging no more than 150% to retain image quality.
- Click on OK.
- Click on Print.
- Step #3: Choose the correct printer to print your image.
- Choose File-->Print OR Click on Print if you're on the Print Preview Page (if you click on the Printer icon on a pc, the option box will not appear).
- The pull-down menu at the upper left of the printer option box indicates where your image will print. If you want to print in the library, for instance, it should say "Phaser 850DP" of "Color Phaser".
