Conclusion
The rate of the reaction in exercise three is at its highest in the begining of the reaction. This is because the enzyme is able to work in optimal conditions where a lot of substrate is available. The rate is at its lowest at 180 seconds because almost all of the substrate has been used up at this point. If we were to look at the graph, this statement would be confirmed by a steep slope at the beginning and over a period of time the slope levels out. The effects of an acidic solution on an enzyme and substrate is that it stops the reaction because the lower pH brings more Hydrogen molecules and they exhaust the catalyst.
