Community Service

The purpose of the Community Service program at Seabury Hall is to:

   *  Promote selfless giving among Seabury Hall students

   *  Instill in Seabury students a sense of interdependence with the greater community

   *  Fill needs identified in the community

Upper School

Upper School students are required to complete 30 hours of service in community agencies or programs and to write a reflection paper about their experiences in order to graduate. Students are encouraged to find their own service opportunities, but a list of sites is also available below. For more information on the community service program and student requirements, please see Dr. Stafford or contact him at jstafford@seaburyhall.org.

Middle School

Seabury Hall's Middle School promotes citizenship skills through leadership opportunities and the community service program.  Community service is required at all three grade levels with a minimum of eight hours per year per individual.  Beyond the minimum requirement, service is performed at each grade level, by the Middle School as a whole, and as part of the school-wide Winterim program.  Class advisors are able to provide support and guidance.  Although students are encouraged to take their own initiative, there are many opportunities within our own community.
