Seabury's 19th annual Christmas Party/Performing Arts Concert, a perennial sell-out, is a festive holiday entertainment featuring a cast of over 80 student and adult performers from Seabury Hall's Dance, Drama, and Music Programs.
Before the show and during intermission enjoy our complimentary cakes, cookies, coffee, teas, juices, hot chocolate, and hot cider. At intermission the treats continue to the Christmas tunes of the Maui Brass Ensemble.
Along with student actors, singers, and musicians, all four levels of student dancers will perform. The Seabury Hall Dance Ensemble will be premiering Ka’oionapua, a new Hula, choreographed by kumu hula Napua Greig-Makua. This dance is Seabury's entry for the 10th National High School Dance Festival this March. David Ward is resetting his Middle Eastern Reverie and Tango, y No last seen in his “Dancing Through Life” farewell performance at the Maui Arts & Cultural Center. The company will also be performing Formation, a new piece choreographed by former company member Brianna Skellie.
Other highlights will include The Awakening and Wishing Hearts, two ballet pieces choreographed by ballet mistress Vanessa Cerrito. André Morissette will be restaging his 8th Period and Nickleodeon for Levels A and B.
Stephen Haines will be accompanying our student singers; guitarist Alan Hodara will accompany senior vocalist Skyla Lowry. Marsha Kelly offers excerpts from the recent Middle School musical Once Upon a Mattress.
Demand for seats runs high for this one weekend only affair -- so reservations are a must.
Tickets will become available by telephone reservation beginning the morning of Wednesday, December 2. Call the Performance Studio at 573-1257.
Special Matinee Fundraiser: Sunday Dec. 6 @ 3:00 PM
On Sunday December 6th, we will have a special matinee fundraising performance to help send the Seabury Hall Dance Ensemble on their trip to the National High School Dance Festival in Miami Florida, in March.
Different from the Friday and Saturday show, this one-time only performance on Sunday will feature just our top level dancers (Levels C and D), along with student and faculty singers and performers Alan Hodara, Skyla Lowry, and Joe Schmidt, and special guest performers, Eric Gilliom and the Flamenco sounds of "Elementos" featuring Indio and Makana.
All seats for this special one-day fundraising performance are $15. Reservations for this performance only are now available by phone, 573-1257.
