TECHNOLOGY

COMPUTER GRAPHICS I

Students are taught computer animation, desk top publishing, digital image processing and web page design. The students are guided in designing esthetically pleasing computer generated art using a variety of computer tools. Design of screens and page layout is taught with an emphasis of effective communication. The units in this class are project based and class time is used for these projects. Minimal homework. (One semester, Art credit)

ADVANCED PLACEMENT COMPUTER SCIENCE

During the fall semester, students are taught the syntax of C++ statements, how to write programs and how to apply their skills to solving problems. Students begin to understand structured programming, objects and classes. During the spring term, the major emphasis are on computer programming methodology, algorithms and data structures. This course is highly symbolic and demands strong problem solving skills. The students prepare for the Advanced Placement computer Science "A" test. (Math credit, approximately 2 hours of homework per week) 

Prerequisite: Grade of B or better in Geometry or C.A.M. (May be offered every other year depending on student request and other competing AP offerings.)
