Middle School Program

The primary Middle School educational goals, within a rigorous academic curriculum, are to cultivate the joy of learning among the students, develop a sense of community and assist them in becoming independent learners.

The program requirements are as follows:

6th Grade:
English (Double Block)
World Geography
Integrated Science 6
Arts and Technology Program
Physical Education
* The first quarter in the 6th grade is a non-graded quarter.

7th grade:
Hawaiian History/Pacific Island Studies
Physical Science 7
Arts and Technology Program
Physical Education

8th grade:
U.S. History
Algebra I
Physical Science 8
Spanish, Japanese, or Hawaiian
Arts and Technology Program

8th Grade Project

The Arts and Technology Program includes: 
Art, Band, Chorus, Drama, and Technology.

The 7th and 8th grade Quarter Exploratories may include: 
Art, Chemistry Lab, Chess, Chorus, Comedy for the Curious, Drama, Film Production, Hiki Nō, Math Counts, Play Production, Psychology, Robotics & Computer Programming, Rocketry, Set Design Construction, 'Ukulele, and Science Olympiad.

The goal of the Middle School Physical Education program is to provide exposure and opportunity to try a wide variety of physical activities. Four sessions of PE classes are offered in each 6 day rotation. Quarterly options for 7th and 8th graders are general PE or Dance.

Dance is available to grades 6, 7, and 8 after school on three levels.

Community Service is required of all three grade levels. Sixth graders give at least 10 hours of service to Seabury Hall. Seventh & eighth graders volunteer a minimum of 8 hours of service to the greater Maui community per year.
