It was truly a team effort by the Spartans as many contributed to the upset victory. Ava Shipman led the way with 1st place finishes in the 1500m, 800m, and the 3000m. Claire Borthwick finished 4th in the 200m and 2nd in the 400m. Veronica Winham finished 2nd in the 1500m, 3rd in the 800m, and 2nd in the 3000m. Darby Mulligan finished 4th in the 3000m. But in the end, it all came down to the 4x400m race where the Spartans had to beat Kaiser to claim the state championship. The relay team of Ava Shipman, Veronica Winham, Claire Borthwick, and Erika Preseault went on to finish in 3rd, one spot ahead of Kaiser, capturing the championship for the Spartans! Go Spartans!
