UPPER SCHOOL PHYSICS INSTRUCTOR

Seabury Hall is seeking a full-time Physics instructor, to begin in the fall of 2020.  The position will also include teaching AP Physics and serving as an advisor to a small group of students.  The ideal candidate will have an advanced degree, several years of experience teaching science at the high school level, and an interest in working with secondary level students outside of the classroom.

CHAPLAIN


Seabury Hall an independent co-educational day school in Makawao, Maui, Hawaii is seeking a Chaplain for the upcoming 2020-2021 school year.
 
Position Summary: The Chaplain will work in concert with the Head of School, the School Leadership Team and Faculty and Staff. The primary function of the Chaplain is to promote the spiritual, social and educational enrichment of the students, families and staff. The Chaplain believes in the Seabury Hall mission.
 
Responsibilities:
Worship
  • Coordinate Eucharists and other liturgies as needed by the community
  • Create and lead a student organization that serves the chapel
  • Oversee the chapel and provide an environment for meditation
    • Provide assemblies and oversee special events for religious holidays
    • Provide/lead interfaith dialogue
    • Plan and oversee major school-wide religious services (e.g. Baccalaureate)
    • Provide blessings/prayers at all special events
Pastoral Care
  • Be readily available to students, faculty and families for interfaith pastoral care
  • Be attentive to and inclusive of all faiths
  • Work with school counselor as needed
  • Grief counseling as needed
  • Visitation of ill school community members
Assembly
  • Support and advise those offering morning reflections
Teaching Responsibilities
  • Teach/visit Middle School and Upper School classes in the Religion and Philosophy Department
  • Serve on academic committees as needed
  • Support the school and its leadership
Community Service
  • Support the school in all community outreach programs
 
Personal/Professional Qualities Summary: The Chaplain will be a person of integrity, committed to his/her spiritual journey, as well as the spiritual growth of the school; who believes in the mission and is effective in working with a broad range of constituents – most specifically, our students.
 
Position Qualifications:
  • Must be an ordained Episcopal Priest in good standing
    • Must be highly proficient in all communications
    • Must be an experienced educator
    • Must be prepared to be committed to the health of the school community
