Substitute Teacher (On-Call)
Seabury Hall is seeking qualified candidates for the Substitute Teacher pool.  The ideal candidate will be a competent professional with an interest in education, have a passion for working with students and able to work a flexible schedule on short notice.
 
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Adhere to the lesson plans assigned by the regular teacher
  • Follow procedures and achieve lesson goals
  • Assign and explain homework
  • Comply with all school regulations and policies at all times

Director of Physical Facilities
Department: Leadership
Supervisor: Head of School
Status: Full-time-12 months
Effective Date: June 1, 2022

Position Summary:
 The Director of Physical Facilities will oversee the maintenance and upkeep of the school facilities and grounds and maintain a deferred maintenance plan supported by a planned budget that ensures the high quality of the physical plant in support of both short-term and long-term needs of Seabury Hall. Oversight or planning, permitting and construction.

Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in related field. Three years construction or project management experience.

Qualifications:
Excellent communication skills both verbal and written. Ability to multitask and manage projects. Must have experience in managing through technology - Microsoft and GOOGLE applications, including spreadsheets (excel). Budgeting, permitting and project management experience preferred.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
  • Supervise and schedule the Facilities Maintenance team.
  • Ensure that maintenance and repairs based on priorities is completed in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Create and manage a budget related to maintenance, repairs of assigned facilities, facility upgrades, renovations, and new builds
  • Ensure that the facilities department adhere to its labor and maintenance and repairs budget.
  • Facilitate appropriate safety training for staff. Ensure that all staff participate in school required training.
  • Oversee all facilities and Facilities Department equipment repairs and preventative maintenance
  • Develop project plans and daily repair and maintenance plans.
  • Schedules and allocates resources and facilities employees to the specific activities.
  • Define project, repairs and maintenance baseline, and tracks progress.
  • Checks status towards meeting plan(s) objectives.
  • Develop a long term facilities plan which includes equipment replacement forecasting. Perform audits to support facilities plan. 
  • Ensure that timelines for the long term plan are met. Report progress and deviations to the Facilities Committee.
  • Oversees plan development, permit applications, building projects, renovations or refurbishments performed by outside contractors and vendors.
  • Works closely with the hired contractor or vendor project manager on new builds/remodels and ensures project specifications are being followed. 
  • Ensure that facilities meet government regulations, and environmental health and security and safety standards.
  • Advises on issues related to increasing energy efficiency and cost effectiveness.
  • Reviews vendor service contracts; negotiates and evaluates all vendor service contracts for one-time or recurring services.
  • Shops for best pricing, attains bids as well as competitive quotes. Seizes opportunities to reduce cost without compromising quality of the work.  Presents quotes and bids for approval.
  • Identifies, repairs and eliminates potential safety hazards related to equipment and facilities.
  • Ensures school facilities reflect an aesthetically positive image including appropriate signage.
  • Participates in school related training sessions and ensures that all team members are properly trained as expected by the school. Instructs Facilities employees on proper use of equipment and enforcement of use of safety equipment/gear while performing their jobs.
  • Compliance with all Federal, State, Local and school safety, health and environmental regulations.
  • Responsible for evaluation and corrective actions to ensure a productive team.
  • Regular attendance of Leadership meetings and retreats.
  • Must be available to report to work for emergencies or on campus events.
  • Other duties and special projects as assigned.
  • Vacation and personal time to be scheduled around construction projects, which generally occur when the school is closed.
