Coeducational College Preparatory Day School serving Grades 5-12

Seabury Hall Parent Organization

Seabury Hall is successful thanks in part to a wonderful parent body that supports the school with its time, talent and treasure. Whether it's through volunteering at school functions, attending performances and athletic events, or participating in fundraising activities, parents of students and alumni are a vital part of the Seabury Hall community.
Our parent support group is called The Seabury Hall Parent Organization (SHPO) and every parent is a member. The mission of SHPO is to support the school in accomplishing its goals. SHPO encourages parent involvement through volunteer opportunities such as being an athletic team parent, building sets and sewing costumes for performing arts, or participating in career or community service days. SHPO sponsors fundraising activities like the annual Craft Fair that enlists the help of over 700 parent volunteers.  SHPO promotes effective parenting through regular workshops and seminars like "Parent Education Nights".  And SHPO acts in an advisory capacity through regular communication with the administrative team.

Adhoc committees for 2020-21 include:

Book Fair:  Provide a safe and convenient environment for Seabury Hall students to sell their used books to other Seabury Hall students. Plans and organizes annual book fair at end of the school year.

Faculty-Staff Christmas Party:   Provide the Faculty-Staff with a fun, entertaining and gastronomical event and Christmas Party. Plans and organizes the annual faculty and staff Christmas party.

Parent Education:  Provide parents with educational opportunities that address and acknowledge the needs and goals of students and beyond. Plans and organizes parent education nights.

Special Events:  Plans and organizes, as needed, Board sponsored activities and events, including secret angel program, and assistance in other activities as needed.

Finance:  Assist in the development of a balanced financial SHPO budget, for the upcoming school year, in conjunction with the Treasurer and Head of School for approval at the September meeting. Work with the Executive Committee to review current sources of revenue to determine if additional sources of income are required to continue/expand SHPO activities. Plan and organize additional fundraisers if needed.

Spirit Gear:  Promote school spirit and pride through the promotion and utilization of the Seabury Hall logo, as well as provide additional income to support SHPO activities. Plan and organize the creation and sale of Seabury Hall merchandise.
